The electricity at work regulations are a statutory recommendation derived from the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The purpose of this regulation is to ensure that all electrical systems are regularly maintained to prevent the risk of death or injury from electricity in the work place.
Electrical systems include all equipment that is connected to an electrical source and therefore includes any item that is portable, fixed, moveable or stationary.
The IEE code of practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment provides specific criteria on the inspections and tests necessary.
Our testing programme follows that criteria meticulously. We offer a PAT Testing service that will allow the directors of an organisation to comply with the legal requirements under the electricity at work regulations. Our Programme Consists of:
Inspection: - Formal documented visual checks are carried out by experienced Engineers.
Testing: - Industry standard Portable Appliance Test Equipment is used for testing. All equipment can carry out necessary tests required by the Code of Practice. All equipment that is used routinely calibrated in line with National Standards.
Certification and Reporting: - All Test results are recorded and provided to the customer, together with relevant certification. We keep a comprehensive database of all our customers. This enables us to inform you when re-inspection and testing become necessary. For convenience, inspection and testing are carried out at the customer's premises. Out of hours inspection can be arranged to avoid interruption.
